Nigerians Abroad: Ogbeche, Onazi, Utaka & Musa on target

ENGLAND
Peter Odemwingie was unable to add to his goal tally as his side defeated Newcastle United 1-0 at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday. Erik Pieters’ strike in the 42nd minute proved enough to give the Potters their 11th win of the season. Osaze was replaced by Jonathan Walters with less than three minutes to full time. He boasts of five goals in six starts for Stoke City. On the other hand, Shola Ameobi was on from start to finish for the visitors. He is yet to score for the Magpies despite featuring 22 times this season.
Joseph Yobo was not listed as Norwich City lost 1-0 to Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday afternoon. This will be the second time the Super Eagles captain will not be featuring for the Yellow Canaries since his move from Fenerbahce in January. He boasts of eight appearances this season.
Sone Aluko was a second half substitute as Hull City got a 5-3 victory over Sheffield United to secure passage into the final of the FA Cup on Sunday. The Nigerian came on for George Boyd in the 46th minute to help the Tigers come back from behind to win the high scoring encounter. He has featured in 18 games this season with a goal to his name.
Victor Moses was a late substitute as Liverpool defeated Manchester City 3-2 at Anfield to continue their push for a first Premier League title in 24 years. The Nigerian, who has been consigned to the bench for most of his loan period with the Reds, replaced Brazilian match winner Coutinho in the 89th minute. Moses has played 17 times for Brendan Rodgers’ men this season.
 Mikel Obi came on for Demba Ba in Chelsea’s 1-0 defeat of Swansea at the Liberty Stadium on Sunday evening. He replaced the Senegalese who got the Blues' lone strike in the 79th minute and got into the referee’s book six minutes later. Obi has featured 21 times for the west Londoners in the English Premier League this season.
FRANCE


Vincent Enyeama
 was in superb form on Saturday evening as OSC Lille recorded a 1-0 home win over Valenciennes. The Super Eagles number one was solid in goal and denied the visitors several scoring chances before Divock Origi won the game for Les Dogues with his strike in the 70th minute. Enyeama has not missed a league game for Lille since his return from Israel, playing 33 times and conceding 19 goals in the process.
Elderson Echiejile did not feature for AS Monaco as they won 1-0 at Rennes with Emmanuel Riviere’s 55th minute strike making the difference for the visitors. Echiejile who has made just two appearances for Les Rouges last featured in his side’s 1-0 defeat at Evian Thonon Gaillard.

TURKEY
John Utaka continued his goal scoring form as his strike helped Sivasspor to a 2-1 home win over Galatasaray in the Turkish Super Lig on Saturday. Aatif Chahechouhe scored in the 17th minute to give the hosts the lead over star-studded Galatasaray, but Yekta Kurtulus helped the high flying visitors pull a goal back with a 41st minute goal. Utaka however scored on hour-mark to seal the win for Sivasspor who moved up to fourth place on the Super Lig table with 43 points from 29 games. The 32-year-old has now scored six goals in eighteen appearances for Roberto Carlos’ team.
Godfrey Oboabona saw 90 minutes of action as his side, Rizespor secured a 2-0 victory away at Kayserispor on Saturday. Second half strikes from Lomana LuaLua and Uemit Korkmaz ensured his team's eighth win of the season out of 33 matches played. The former Sunshine Stars skipper has played 15 league games this season.

ITALY
Ogenyi Onazi  scored his first Serie A goal of the season for SC Lazio in his side’s 4-2 loss at Napoli. Onazi was on for the entire duration but his 82nd minute strike could not stop his side from bowing to Napoli inspired by Gonzalo Higuain’s hat trick. The former My People FC player has made 27 appearances for Lazio this season.

HOLLAND
Bartholomew Ogbeche was on target for SC Cambuur as they came from behind to record a 4-3 home win over Vitesse in the Dutch Eredivisie on Saturday night. His strike in the 64th minute sealed a hard earned win for Cambuur who climbed up to ninth place with 39 points from 32 games.
RUSSIA

Ahmed Musa was on parade for CSKA Moscow as they defeated PFK Samara Sovetov 3-1 on Saturday. He scored a goal in the 17th minute off an assist from Seydou Doumbia. The win ensures that CSKA Moscow keep tab on the first two teams on the log as they are four points behind leaders Zenit St. Petersburg. The former VV Venlo striker has played 24 Russia Premier League games for the Army men this season and boasts of six goals.
Fegor Ogude  was not dressed as Amkar Perm  forced Tomsk  to a 0-0 draw on Saturday.  The former Valerenga man who was on parade in his team’s 1-0 defeat to Terek Gronzt at the Zvezda Stadium has scored three times in five appearances for the Russian topflight outfit this season.
