Stephen Keshi has declared that he is hopeful of a return to the national team job, after a meeting with the Sports Minister Tammy Danagogo.

The board of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), led by Amaju Pinnick, had on October 15th parted ways with the 2013 African Cup of Nations winning coach for poor performance.

The former Togo and Mali manager who spoke to newsmen in Abuja after a meeting with Danagogo said he was optimistic about returning to the team after President Goodluck Jonathan’s intervention for his reinstatement.

“I love the job because this is a team I have captained for 14 years and coached for a while.

“But, sometimes, I have a little bit of mixed feelings about the situation on ground.

“What we experienced here after the victory against Sudan is not something we want to think about and this is where the problem lies.
